How cookies and similar technologies are used on beatabudrys.com, what they do, and how to manage them.
01 — What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They let the site remember your actions, preferences, and interactions across pages and visits. “Similar technologies” includes browser storage, pixels, and tags that work in comparable ways.
This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains the broader collection and use of your personal information.
02 — How we use cookies
We use cookies to make the website work properly, remember your preferences (including your cookie choice), understand how visitors use the site at a general level, and keep the site secure.
We do not use cookies for advertising or to build personal profiles about individual visitors.
03 — Categories of cookies on this site
The cookies and similar technologies on this site fall into two categories:
- Necessary — required for the website to function: the password gate while the site is in soft launch, security features, and the cookie that remembers your consent choice. These are always on and cannot be turned off without breaking the website.
- Analytics — Google Analytics 4, used to understand how visitors find and move through the site. Loaded only after you accept analytics cookies; declined by default for visitors in regions where consent is required.
04 — The specific cookies we set
The cookies and storage keys you may encounter on this site:
bb_consent— necessary. Records your cookie choice (accepted or rejected) for one year so you don’t see the banner on every page. Set by us. First-party.password_protected_auth— necessary. Set by the Password Protected plugin while the site is gated. Removed once the site is opened publicly.wordpress_*,wp-settings-*— necessary. Set by WordPress for logged-in editors. Anonymous visitors do not receive these._ga,_ga_VYXY8NZGTZ— analytics. Set by Google Analytics 4 to distinguish visitors and sessions. Loaded only after you accept analytics. Expires after about 13 months.
05 — Third-party services that may set cookies
Some of the services we use can set their own cookies if they are loaded on a page:
- Google Analytics 4 — analytics. Loaded only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Mailchimp — does not set cookies on this website. If you click an unsubscribe link in a newsletter email, Mailchimp may set cookies on their own pages, governed by their own policy.
- Cloudflare — may set a security cookie if we route the site through Cloudflare. Treated as necessary if used.
Third-party providers control their own cookies. Review their policies for details: Google, Mailchimp, Cloudflare.
06 — Consent
For visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, and other regions where consent is required, non-essential cookies and analytics are not loaded until you accept them in the cookie banner. Necessary cookies are set immediately because the site cannot function without them.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing your cookies for this site, or by re-opening the banner from the link in the footer.
07 — Managing cookies in your browser
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block, delete, or be notified about cookies. Blocking necessary cookies may break parts of the site.
08 — Do Not Track
This website does not currently respond to Do Not Track (“DNT”) browser signals because there is no consistent industry standard for how to interpret them. We rely on the cookie banner and your choice within it instead.
09 — Children’s privacy
This website is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through cookies or any other means.
10 — Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
